The 3rd-year MFA candidates in GSU’s Welch School of Art & Design have a show during Art Basel in Miami every year. I was commissioned to design the catalog for the exhibit showcasing the work, and introducing the artists, for the Art Basel audience. The theme of this years show, as established by Art Papers Victoria Chamblin, was “The Relationships Between Things.” For the design, I tried to create diptych treatments for each spread, and a cover based on distorted geomoetrical patterns, that would highlight the tension of items standing in relationship to each other.
